The Anthony L Christy Memorial Golf Tournament
Saturday, June 21, 2018
The Golf Club of Dublin, Dublin, OH
Last year the 27th annual Special Agent Anthony L. Christy Memorial Golf Tournament was held in Columbus on June 22, 2017 at The Golf Club of Dublin and raised over $13,000 for our two regular worthy charities and the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.
For those new to the tournament, SA Christy was assigned to the Columbus RA and died of a heart attack 27 years ago. His friends and colleagues named the annual golf outing in his honor. SA Christy’s sons both benefited from the FBI Agents’ Association Children’s College Education Scholarship Fund following his death. They both have served their country in Afghanistan and Iraq and have spoken at past tournaments regarding the college fund.
With this tournament, we also recognize Special Agent John Karnemaat, who lost his battle with Huntington’s Disease on November 5, 2007. SA Karnemaat, another Columbus RA agent, was known as a journeyman agent and for his love of sports. We also recognize the loss of John’s wife, Sheryl, who passed away unexpectedly in 2015. John’s daughter, Carey, graduated college in Michigan and, needless to say, has had a rough time, but continues to be engaged with this special event. On behalf of all individuals, corporations and businesses involved with this outing, we ask that you keep the Karnemaat family in your thoughts and prayers.
Dr Sandra Kostyk, The Ohio State University Huntington's Disease Center of Excellence, will be the guest speaker at this event.
